This private day tour takes you off the well-worn tourist trail and into some of Transylvania's most atmospheric and lesser-known corners. The day begins with coffee on Piața Mare — Sibiu's grand baroque square, one of the finest in all of Eastern Europe. From there, you head east through rolling hills toward the enigmatic Mounds of Șona, earthen tumuli perched above the Olt River valley with sweeping views of the Făgăraș peaks. Legends attribute their origin to Dacians, Celts, and even giants. After a short hike to the top, you continue to Șinca Veche — a cave monastery carved directly into the hillside, believed to date to the 9th–11th centuries.
